The Cavan\Monaghan Drug and Alcohol Service aims to provide a holistic, person centred service to individuals with issues of substance misuse encompassing elements of counseling, psychotherapy and alternative therapies.
We recognize that no one approach to substance misuse treatment will be appropriate to all individuals and we fully embrace the principles of harm reduction as well as abstinence based treatment.
Drug and alcohol issues are a widespread problem in Ireland. Community Development Association Trust ltd is a voluntary organization that was first established in 2001 to tackle this issue.
CDA Trust LTD was originally based in Bailieborough, County Cavan and relied solely on volunteer support. With the help of the North Eastern Regional Drugs Task Force, CDA Trust LTD secured funding for a full time project worker and project coordinator in August 2006. Since then, CDA Trust LTD has gone from strength to strength.
In October 2008, thanks to the ongoing support of Judge Sean McBride, CDA Trust LTD opened its second premises in Cavan Town and in 2010 it established a third service, Monaghan Drug Awareness. As a registered charity, CDA also welcomes private donations. The work we do would not be possible without the ongoing support of the community.
