Project Worker Support
Every suitable client referred to the Cavan\ Monaghan Drug and Alcohol Service will have an initial assessment with a project worker. This is an informal, meeting that investigates the full extent of the issues affecting the client and how CDA Trust LTD can best help to them. An assessment form will be completed by the project worker and the client may be asked to undergo a drugs test (either instant urine screen or oral swab). After this initial assessment, each client will have regular appointments with their project worker to discuss ongoing issues and access support.

GP Support Scheme/ Methadone Clinic
The Cavan\Monaghan Drug and Alcohol Service recognizes that many GP’s in the Cavan/Monaghan region are concerned at the growing drug problem and the low availability of methadone treatment. Often it is difficult to offer all the supports necessary to this client group through a normal GP surgery. In order to address this CDA Trust LTD has a GP support scheme where our project workers will liaise with community GPs and provide advice on specific cases.
We also host a methadone clinic through our premises in Cavan, providing administration support to the GP and advice and support to clients. GP’s interested in this scheme or seeking to refer clients for treatment should contact the Project Coordinator or fill out the relevant referral form.
Information and Advice
CDA Trust LTD also provides information and advice to individuals, families, professionals and the wider community. This can be accessed both on an informal ‘drop in’ basis or over the phone.
